The easiest, tastiest smoothie ever! This protein packed recipe is from my BFF Sarah, who says it’s basically an excuse to drink peanut butter. I’m all over it.

Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie (4 Ingredients!) from The Food CharlatanHow was your 4th of July weekend guys?? Ours was super fun, full of sunshine and watermelon and slip and slides. Can’t beat that.

I think my kids partied a little too hard though. Truman woke up sick in the middle of the night. No incidents since, but that hasn’t stopped me from lining every square inch of our house with towels and sheets.

Needless to say, today has been kind of slow. All the sudden it was 2:30pm and I was still in my PJs.

Normally at this point I would surrender to the pajama gods: stay in the house all day and pray that no one knocks on the door. But NOTHING guarantees a faster knock at the door than surrendering to the pajama gods, let me tell you.

It was the water company. They left a note saying that in 20 minutes they were shutting off the water for 3 hours. THAT was when I remembered that I had a church meeting later that night and had to actually get dressed.

I think I’ve found the solution to California’s drought problem. Just threaten to shut off the water…nothing guarantees a faster shower.

Did anyone play volleyball over the holiday weekend? Perfect 4th of July pick up game, right? I’m not much of a volleyball player but I am alllll about drinking the smoothies that awesome volleyball players drink. My buddies over at Almond Breeze are partnering up with the USA Volleyball team. I feel like pretty much everyone drinks smoothies these days, but no one more so than athletes, amiright? That’s why this smoothie is packed with tons of protein. I really am full after finishing it, even though it doesn’t seem like a ton. Plus it is sooooo good. You have to let me know if you try it out! Go Team USA!

  1. Survey done.
I love vanilla almond milk in my protein shakes.
So happy we got to hang out with everyone last week!

  2. Took the survey…honestly never used almond milk before one of your yummy recipes called for it.

  3. i took the survey too!

i don’t care for almond milk as a milk replacement (like, you won’t find me having a glass of almond milk with chocolate chip cookies), but i love the vanilla stuff in smoothies. i also use it to make oatmeal, and occasionally with cereal (which i eat rarely, but). or sometimes i just put it in a shaker with ice and shake the bejesus out of it and have it as a cold frothy drink of its own.

our fourth was really quiet, we were just too pooped from other weekend stuff to do anything! i made smitten kitchen’s dry rub chicken & corn potato bacon salad, and we can actually see several different firework displays right out our windows. not as good as actually being there, but not having to leave the house that night was a big plus, haha.

good luck at the doctor’s tomorrow!

    1. Thanks for taking the survey Stephanie! And I’m so with you, I use that vanilla almondmilk in EVERYTHING. It’s just the best. That’s a genius idea with the shaker! Like a cold milk steamer. kind of?

That corn potato bacon salad sounds uuuuhmazing.

  4. I love smoothies! Especially the ones that have minimal ingredients and yet pack a flavorful punch! This is just perfect! PB and banana together is such a sinful yet healthy combination! I cannot wait to make these!

  5. I make these ALLLLLL the time. But with spinach. Lots and lots of spinach. And probably more ice. They do turn bright green but that doesn’t deter my children at all, they love them. Filled out the survey and hoping for $50, ah yeah!!

  6. This looks so good Karen! I am planning on trying this recipe for sure, I have been on a chocolate banana smoothie kick lately but the Almond Milk and peanut butter sounds awesome! I also took your survey! Yay for smoothies!

  7. I’m always on the lookout for smoothie recipes, especially since my toddlers love them and I can always sneak veggies in them. I have to try this one out.

    1. I’d be interested to see how much this would change in color and taste if you added a little spinach or something to it April! Sounds fun. Let me know if you try it out! Thanks for commenting!

  8. I ate WAY too much junk over the 4th, so I think I need this right about now. Plus, you got to love that peanut butter and banana combination. Looks terrific!

    1. Same here Amanda!! I ate waaay too many cheese puffs and sugar cookies. Diet time! As long as that diet includes this smoothie :)
