That’s right, 2 ingredients and no sugar! This dip is not only delicious, but full of protein and healthy fats too. Plus it’s the easiest after-school snack ever! Win-win.

(I was compensated by PARTNERS, A Tasteful Choice Company, for my time in creating this post. All opinions are my own, of course!)

So my brother Nathan is in med school and just started his ER rotation. Today he saw a patient who had had a stroke, and he was trying to determine if she was all there. “What’s today’s date?” I don’t know. “What day of the week is it?” Tuesday.

Nate reported back to his supervisor that the patient was indeed lucid because she knew it was Tuesday. And that’s when they both realized that it was Monday.

Who else is feeling a little frazzled lately? And who’s back to school already?? I’m so glad I get one more year with all my kids at home. The idea of starting school this early in August makes me want to poke someone in the eye with a pencil.

BUT, I have a great after-school snack for you guys. And guess what, it’s healthy!! Just 2 ingredients: unsweetened salted almond butter and plain Greek yogurt.

I got the idea for this dip from my friend Andi over at Weary Chef (definitely check out her site! Lots of easy dinners). A while back she posted a recipe for Peanut Butter Chocolate Yogurt Fruit Dip. I decided I wanted to try it with Almond Butter.

I’ve seen similar recipes that call for honey and/or cinnamon, but I wanted to keep it simple. Sometimes when I am eating fruit dip I realize that the fruit has just become a medium for the dip, and nothing else. My tongue just can’t get past the sugar. This dip is not overly sweet, so you can still appreciate the natural sugar in the fruit, or in today’s recipe, these amazing gluten-free Brownie Thins. Yeah, you heard me.

I think I’m in love, guys. Partners sent me two packages and I’ve polished off both of them already, every single one dipped in this dip. It’s such a good combo! I don’t know why dessert crackers are not more of a thing. Way to start a trend, Partners. This is the newest product on their Free for All Kitchen line, and it’s already won awards and stuff. Awesome right?  They are expanding coast to coast, so you will probably see it soon. Check out this list of stores to see where it’s already available!

Not gluten-free? Me neither. But I do have several friends who eat gluten-free, and let me just say, as someone who likes to feed people, it is really hard for me to have a friend drop by and have no food to offer them. I love the idea of having these Brownie Thins tucked away in my cupboard, and an easy 2 ingredient dip on hand. Although this plan might not work out for me because I will eat them within 3 days of purchasing. I might have to make a hiding spot. (Does anyone else hide food from themselves?? Please tell me I’m not alone.)

  1. Can you natural peanut butter instead of almond butter? I just don’t like the taste of almond butter.. This looks very eady to make and it also looks delicious.. Please get back to me as soon as you can. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Karen
Your poor brother, that’s hilarious!! I’m almost Sixty, this happens daily to me.
I love your blog and your sense of humor.
    Chris

  3. Melody, Walmart carries almond butter as well as other nut butters, organic.
This looks really good, thanks for a new idea, will look for the brownie thins, think I saw them at the store.

  4. i am in BC in very small town i do not recall seeing Almond butter. does it have a consistency of regular butter?? sorry i sound dumb lol

    1. Hi Melody! Almond butter is the consistency of peanut butter. You can buy it online if you can’t find it where you are. Enjoy!

  5. You say sugar free, I read guilt free which pretty much means I will eat the whole bowl of this dip by myself and not feel bad about it. :) Now I just only need to find the brownie thins!!
PS: Thank you for the linkup, Karen!

  6. Gluten-free brownie thins?! If I weren’t so behind in my feed, I would know about this SO LONG AGO. Also – I never know what day of the week it is, they’d never think I was all there;)

  7. I’m not going to lie, at this time of year, I secretly relish in the fact that it’s back to school, punishment for all my teacher friends who have had lives of leisure the last two months. I know, I’m horrible. BUT I do feel bad for the kiddos! I’m not even going back to school and I want this dip, and what doyouknow, I have the ingredients sitting 2.5 feet away from me.

    1. Hahaha!! I think I would be pretty bitter come sunny June days myself if I had a bunch of teacher friends who got to sleep in all summer :)

  8. I love this dip and how it only has 2 healthy ingredients!! I have tried to hide food from myself but since I know where I hid it, it doesn’t work out too well! ;)

    1. I used to think that. Then I forgot about a package of oreos I had hid from myself one time and it was the BEST DAY EVER.

  9. You cannot go wrong with two ingredients! Love the greek yogurt and how this is only naturally sweetened :)

  10. This looks so good, and I need to try those brownie thins! Just this week I’ve started trying to pretty drastically reduce my sugar intake, so an unsweetened dip like this is perfect. Thank you, Karen!

    1. You are brave Andi!! I probably should do a sugar detox sometime…I’m kind of scared too, haha. In the meantime. More dip please.

  11. I’m in the middle of a cornfield, so I’m hoping these Brownie Thins get here soon (although a little bird told me I might be able to get some of these). And then I’ll make the dip and eat it all, because when you are an empty nester, you get to do these things. Also, who decided you needed to know if you are lucid by knowing what day it is? With that criteria, just put me away, but make sure I have this dip and crackers. Thanks for helping me with that. ;)

    1. Hey, you know what, Empty-Nesters are like the world’s new 20 year olds. Do what you want :) And I know, I never know what day of the week it is, we can be put away together. I was talking to my other brother about it (he’s also an ER doc) and he said that when people have true dementia, and you ask them what year it is (probably a better question) and they don’t know, they say the year they were born. They can’t accept that they don’t know what year it is, so they just say the only year they can remember, and that’s usually the year they were born. Interesting right?

      1. That’s very interesting. I’ll practice on what year it is so that they don’t think I’m totally out of it. We should contemplate this while eating dip and crackers. And two brothers that are doctors? No thanks. One lawyer brother is enough.

  12. Right? Who starts school this early! And I used to complain about having to go back in September. But, I would totally drown my sorrows in this dip! Sugar free? 2-ingredients? It’s got my name allllll over it.

    1. I know! I don’t know what is happening to the world! Summer is the best part about life as a kid, right??

  13. I eat Greek yogurt almond every day, so it’s always nice to find different ways to use it. Almond butter is wonderful, so this looks like a great snack!

    1. If you are a Greek yogurt junkie then you will definitely love this Amanda! I dilute it with more yogurt in the morning and add fruit and granola. So good!

  14. Oh my goodness! I am gluten free so I really want to get my hands on these awesome brownie crackers!! Plus I’ll be making the dip :)

    1. You totally need to try them out Beth! They have all different kinds of normal savory crackers too, like Olive oil and Rosemary. They are really good!
